Keep them clean
Clean your wheels regularly to remove brake dust, road grime and other buildup. Use mild car-wash soap and water, following the cleaner’s directions and the care instructions for your wheel finish.
Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean, soft microfiber towel. Take your time around the spokes, hubs and rim edges where moisture and residue can collect.
Go easy on the finish
Use a soft cloth or a soft wheel brush suitable for your finish. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring tools and harsh household cleaners that can scratch or damage the surface.
When cleaning tires, keep stiff bristles and aggressive scrubbing away from the wheel. Chrome, gold and painted finishes can need different care—check product compatibility before applying any cleaner or protectant.
Add protection thoughtfully
A compatible ceramic coating or wheel protectant can make routine cleaning easier. Choose a product approved for your exact finish and follow its application, curing and reapplication instructions.
Check your protective finish at least twice a year. Reapply as the product manufacturer recommends; a coating does not replace regular cleaning and drying.
Let your wheels cool
Allow wheels to cool before washing. Avoid cleaning hot wheels or spraying cold water onto them immediately after driving. Once they are cool, wash away road contaminants promptly and dry thoroughly.
Check after an impact
After a hard impact or an accident, have your wheels inspected by a qualified wheel professional. If you suspect a cracked, bent or otherwise unsafe wheel, stop using it until it has been assessed. Replace damaged wheels when the professional inspection calls for it.
